Margaret Balfe

A Director in Azets Ireland’s tax department, Margaret has over 17 years of experience as a tax professional with a demonstrated history of providing tax consultancy and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of domestic clients.

Margaret is principally engaged in the provision of tax advisory services to private and corporate clients with particular focus on succession, VAT and corporate tax planning.  Margaret also advises on tax compliance across a range of tax heads including; Corporation Tax, RCT, Stamp Duty, Income Tax, VAT and employment taxes.

Margaret specialises in providing commercially minded tax structuring solutions whilst ensuring clients are fully tax compliant. Her experience includes working in a leading domestic agricultural accountancy and advisory firm for 9+ years, providing tax advisory and planning solutions to agri-businesses including structuring for businesses and optimising tax structures and succession planning. 

Margaret is a Fellow of Chartered Accountancy Ireland (FCA), a member of the Irish Tax Institute (CTA) and the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (TEP) and holds a 1^st Class Honours BA Degree in Accounting from Southeast Technological University, Ireland.
