Declan de Lacy is a partner in the firm’s advisory & restructuring department.
Declan advises directors of companies that are considering winding up due to insolvency or because they have ceased trading. He is frequently appointed as liquidator by shareholders, creditors and by the High Court. Declan also assists clients from a broad range of sectors with strategic planning, project appraisal, and project finance.
Skills & Experience
The insolvency appointments that Declan has undertaken have covered a wide range of sectors and include cases involving fraud and gross misconduct by directors. The solvent liquidations that Declan has undertaken include regulated funds, subsidiaries of multinational companies, as well as family businesses.
In the course of undertaking insolvency appointments Declan has managed and sold numerous trading businesses ranging from hotels to motor dealerships.
The advisory assignments that Declan has undertaken involved a broad range of sectors including property & construction, hotels and leisure, the motor trade, and retail.
Declan has extensive international experience and has advised on projects in locations as diverse as South America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Whilst undertaking international assignments Declan has developed a detailed understanding of structuring complex transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
Declan has delivered numerous CPD courses on subjects including company law, regulated financial business, and insolvency. He has also written extensively on these subjects for technical publications and newspapers.
