The most interesting thing I have learned since working here is how important interpersonal skills are. Each day includes a great deal of regular communication with clients. We get experience with such a variety of work, really helping us to develop these skills. My favourite thing about working here is the social atmosphere in the office and how integrated the firm is. The beginning of any career can feel overwhelming and daunting for the best of us, so I’d encourage you to push yourself, even if you feel a little bit out of your comfort zone at first. Always ask questions and don’t be afraid of change.
Joining a mid-tier firm means that you get to work alongside senior level colleagues, while being afforded the opportunity to work with large clients. It has been a bit strange starting a new job in the middle of a pandemic, however, my team have made it as seamless as possible. Thankfully, I have been in the office from time to time so there has been face-to-face interaction. When working from home, our team maintain regular contact and my manager calls me daily to talk through my workload and is always on hand to assist if I have any questions.
