Laura Cassells

Laura is an Associate Director in our Audit and Assurance team. She has over 12 years’ experience in audit and accounting as well as book-keeping services, as a result she has obtained extensive audit experience and proficiency in both accounting (Irish GAAP & IFRS) and auditing standards

Skills & Experience

Laura manages and delivers audit engagements from planning through to completion, for numerous clients of all sizes from large corporates to SME's. She has experience in the planning, controlling and managing of audit engagements for a number of entities, including those publicly and privately held. Laura’s involved in a diverse portfolio of clients that range from the manufacturing, retail, technology, bakery, logistics, professional services to the not for profit sector (including grant application).

Laura is responsible for the audit process which would include assessing controls and an awareness of applicable risks, establishing an audit approach, monitoring and review of the team’s work as well as client reports. Her role involves close collaboration with staff, partners and communicating with client’s regularly throughout the entire engagement and picking up on any possible efficiencies. Clients particularly value Laura’s professionalism, commitment, timely delivery in a helpful manner, as well as her forensic approach. Laura looks to add value within the audit process.

In addition, Laura supports the firm and the team, by overseeing the training and development of staff from incoming candidates to progressing long standing members. Laura is passionate about the retention of talent through goal setting, on the job training and acknowledging successes.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys forest walks and an edge of your seat crime thriller.

Qualifications

Laura holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from NUI Maynooth and is a fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
